MANAGEMENT TIPS

TRAIN EMPLOYEES ON SKILLS THAT EVOLVE WITH AI

Too many companies are treating AI skills as an ever-expanding checklist, leading to overwhelmed employees and disappointing results. A better approach is to focus training on a small set of capabilities that drive real value and can evolve alongside the technology. Training employees in these three skills will help them develop while achieving business results. Problem formulation. An AI tool’s output is only as good as the input it receives. Teach employees how to clearly scope and define a problem statement, determine objectives, and establish boundaries to guide effective solutions. Systems thinking. As they introduce AI into workflows, you want employees to see the ripple effects of an interconnected system. Teach them to recognize how different parts of the process connect and impact one another. Strategic foresight. To create new products, services, or business models with AI, employees must learn to anticipate future scenarios and build adaptive solutions. Try embedding “what-if” scenario-planning into existing decision-making processes to help employees anticipate and plan for disruption.  Excerpt from Havard business review on management.
