LEADERSHIP -Mastering the art of Self-confidence
TRIUMPHING OVER ADVERSITY.
"The miracle or the power that elevates the few to be found in their industry, application and perseverance under the promptings of a brave, determined spirit".
—Mark Twain
Even Nelson Mandela has said that "courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it" and that "a brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear".
The lessons from these quotes have clearly told us that if we must win the battle over adversity, or any battle at all, we must have an unyielding spirit that is strengthened with great determination.
For sure, we know that success does not come easy and that if we must be successful, we must sail over all of the obstacles that life throws at us.
So, if you really want to triumph over adversity, you must be:
Confident
Unyielding
Resilient
Optimistic
These things are in accordance with Seneca the Younger's saying that "Great men rejoice in adversity, just as brave soldiers triumph in war".
But, because we know that to defeat anything at all, we need to have as much knowledge as is possible to have about that thing because knowledge is power, so to totally triumph over adversity, we must also have:
Knowledge
Skills
Patience
Guiding goals
Just like Milo Ventimiglia has said "If you have your mind in the right direction, and your heart is full of the right kind of stuff, you'll succeed and you'll triumph over adversity, over really anything".
